今天機構的WhatsApp差不多在同一時間收到了兩位跨性別者的查詢,一位我們聊了很久,也十分愉快。另一位希望我們能夠為他寫證明信作申請BNO更改性別之用,我們很有耐性的為他解釋怎樣可以處理,他說看到我們的一個YouTube視頻,說要這個服務。我解釋若要我們寫信,需要與當事人面對面見過面,而且要接觸過一年以上(依照BNO的原則),才可以為他開出證明,照現在的情況我們幫不上忙,跟著他就惡言相向。我們為了保護機構的正常運作,及以免浪費時間資源,就將他封鎖了。

我想向大家解釋,我們過往提供免費的服務,都是用機構其他收入,向使用者額外提供的,並非是免費午餐。若有不滿,大可找其他人幫忙,我們過往的付出,已令機彈盡量絕,現在已無任何有支助的項目在手,亦因為不少在機構中說幫過手的義工,為機構帶來了嚴重的傷害,我們已停止大部分實體的服務項目了。現在TGR仍然勉力支撐為有需要的跨性別者提供服務,懇請不要濫用我們的服務及愛心,我們會衡量將力量留給值得幫助的人,本機構有權拒絕提供任何服務予不珍惜者。

We received two enquiries through our official Whatsapp today. One of them was a pleasant and enjoyable conversation that we will keep in touch in the future. The other one was about the process for gender change on BNO. The enquirer learned about the service from our YouTube video, and thus reached us to know more related details. 

We explained to them that we have to know the person for at least a year (according to the BNO application requirement), in which we meet face to face, before we may issue the letter for gender change on BNO. Therefore, we are not able to provide the service for the time being. So instead, we suggested seeking assistance from professionals listed on our website.

Unfortunately the enquirer was not satisfied with our reply and got back with insolent comments about our service. The contact was finally blocked for the sake of smooth and sound operation of our Whatsapp channel.

We would like to clarify that the free services we provide are in fact self-funded, meaning that they are not “free of cost”. Since we are no longer sponsored, our financial condition is turning shaky. Moreover, we did experience aggravation caused by some of our ex-volunteers, leading to a halt of many actual services.

Still, TGR has a mission to stand for and to be the support for the transgender group. However, we would like to see no abuse of our effort and devotion. We will allocate our cherished resources for the ones in need. We reserve the right to reject any service abusers.
